CoVID-19 Information

Covid-19 Vaccines

  • Covid-19 Vaccine Booster shots:

For up to date guidelines from the CDC on when you are eligible to get your booster, click here.

  • Appointments: Appointments are required. You can make an appointment by clicking "Book and Appointment." We ask that you stay near the clinic at least 10 minutes after the vaccine is given for observation of possible adverse effects. Due to limited space, we do ask that you come in as close as you can to your appointment time.

  • Cost: Any administration fees will be billed to your insurance. Please be aware of any cost-sharing required by your specific insurance or plan, such as copays, co-insurance, and deductibles. Now that these are not being supplied by the state, we unfortunately cannot offer free covid vaccines. However, you can get free covid vaccines through a county clinic or state funded program that receives funding to cover the cost of purchasing these vaccines.

  • Cancellations: If you need to cancel your appointment for any reason, please let us know as soon as you know! You can email us at info@carreonhealth.org or respond to your appointment reminder. This will allow the slot to be open for someone else that needs it.

Covid-19 Testing

  • PCR Molecular Test: This is a nasopharyngeal swab. This will determine if you currently have a Covid-19 infection. Lab is collected in the clinic and sent out to Quest Diagnostics for processing. Depending on current laboratory capacity, it may take between 1-3 days to get the results, though in most cases the turnaround is 1-2 days*, including weekends. It may take longer during the winter months due to increased testing and rate of infections. Contact us to find out the current delay in lab processing. If you need this for travel, please review your destination’s requirements related to Covid-19 testing and quarantine.
    * Certain spikes may cause an increase in turnaround time. For up to date turnaround times directly from Quest Diagnostics, please click
    here.

  • Rapid Antigen Test: This test usually takes about 10 minutes. Please note this is not a PCR test. If you need a test for travel/work, we strongly recommend you confirm which test they need from you prior to your appointment.

  • Cost: We will bill your insurance directly for the office visit and for the covid-19 test. Although most insurances are covering the cost of Covid-19 testing, we strongly recommend you contact them to confirm, as this may change at any time.
If you do not have insurance, there is a $75 charge for testing for Covid-19 for either a rapid antigen test or PCR test. For PCR tests, there may be an additional $100 charge from Quest Diagnostics (outside laboratory) for processing.

Antibody Testing: This is a blood test done in the lab. Since we have to wait until antibodies are produced, this test should be performed 2 weeks or more after possible exposure or symptoms. Currently, it usually takes 1-2 days to get the results. Please be advised that research is still ongoing to determine if the antibodies provide any protection, and how long this protection lasts.
